Concentration Clarification

Hello Kanar players,

Play Master staff would like to announce a point of clarification for what breaks concentration. Currently concentration reads: "Concentration spells require the sustained attention of the caster. At the time a Concentration spell is cast, the caster must extend one hand away from their body toward the spell effect they are maintaining. The spell ends if the caster lowers their hand, if they take damage to their AP or BP, if they perform any attack, begin casting another spell, or are no longer within 50 feet of the target."

Going forward "perform any attack" will be defined as taking an offensive action towards another character.

Offensive actions include, but are not limited to: swinging a standard attack, swinging a weapon and activating a martial skill, doing a surprise attack, and any other action that negatively effects another character; such as activating a toxin, applying a harmful alchemy on another character, or activating an item material effect that effects another character. I.e activating Mithril's "Turn Undead 1" ability while holding concentration on a "Wall of Fire" will end the "Wall of fire" spell because it has a negative effect on Undead characters as opposed to activating an Item made of deep sea scales will not break your concentration because it does not effect another character. This clarification also effects spells that are "Duration: Song" because "Duration: Song" requires concentration restrictions to be met.

As always, given that you maintain all other prerequisites to concentration, defending against attacks is not considered attacking and does not break concentration.

Thank you -Play Master 1st
