  • Have a working telephone number.

  • Have a working e-mail address with access on a daily basis.

In addition, nominees for the position of KGE President must not hold any other position defined in any SOP approved by KGE.

Nominations for these positions should be sent to either secretary@kanar.club or bod@kanar.club. Nominations will be open from May 29th through June 19th, with polls opening for the week of June 20th through June 27th.

When the polls open, you will receive an email sent to the email address you have on file with KGE, the one you submitted with your most-current Annual Registration Form. This email will contain a link to the ballot, your personalized entry code, and further instructions on filling out the form and the voting method.

  • KGE Corporate President Nominees:

    • Todd G Martin

    • Jake Smith

  • Even Year Representative Nominees:

    • Melissa Keith

    • Trisha Secord

    • Jason Jewell

Thank you and good afternoon,

Aaron Polk
Corporate Secretary

Are you uncertain of how our preferential voting system works? Watch this video to learn all about it! Keep in mind that the video doen’’t explicitly mention that by not voting for a candidate you are effectively saying ‘I’d rather the position go up for election again than be filled with this person’

June Announcements (6.20)

June Announcements

Last Updated 6.20

6.20 - In Person Event Prep

Hello Players!

As a reminder, your annual membership payment, annual registration form, event fee, and any owed balance is due prior to stepping onto the field of play. If you do not have everything completed, you will not be allowed to participate. Checks are no longer an accepted form of payment, and at this time we are not accepting cash.

For the month of June, you must check in with staff directly and show proof of vaccination. This can be done online or in-person. If check-in staff is not available due to late arrival, you must check in first thing in the morning.

If you are not certain if you are paid in full or have your ARF completed, please email treasurer@kanar.club. I am happy to confirm with you.

Thank you!
Karigan
KGE Treasurer

6.14 - Calendar Subscriptions and RSS

KGE/Kanar Calendar Subscription: Copy this URL into your preferred calendar app to subscribe https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/secretary%40kanar.club/public/basic.ics

Blog RSS Feed: Copy this URL into your preferred RSS service https://kanar.club/blog?format=rss

6.5 - Change in the KGE Mailing Address

Hello Kanar Members,

KGE now has a physical mailbox at the property, instead of the PO Box. While this is mostly only of concern to the Board of Directors for business management, we just wanted you to know of the change. This will save us about $90 a year, be significantly easier for the Treasurer to collect our mail, and a better / more apparent identifier of where our driveway is.

Please do not mess with the mailbox in any way.

Thank you!
Karigan
KGE Treasurer

6.2 - Tree-Cutting June 5-6

There will be a tree-cutting professional working on our property this weekend, June 5-6. Please allow them to do their job. If you have any questions about this direct them to bld@kanar.club.

5.25 - Playmaster Rulebook Survey for XP

This is the first of several surveys on how we can improve the K1 experience! For less than 10 minutes of your time, you can make a world of difference in the future of the game. You can even earn XP through the Playmaster Reward Program! Take the Survey! You have until the 24th of June to fill this out.

May Event Details

May Event Details

Hello everyone!

We hope that you will join us for our event this weekend May 21st - 23rd.

Since it’s so early in the season, I would like to remind you that you must fill out the 2021 Annual Registration Form (ARF) and pay your membership dues in addition to the event fee before attending the event.

Some things are a little different this month!

During this event, teaching and learning skills can only be done in the Rising Raven Academy room, which is designated for skill learning.

In addition, a “help wanted” board has been added! If you are a fan of combat and adventuring, you can go to the “help wanted” board in town to participate in modules. Please make sure you and your group sign up for the modules you want to participate in ahead of time! Need a group? There’s now a room in the Out of Game area specifically for group gathering!

Please see the module schedule below under “Can I Do Modules?” to see what will be available when!

Finally, we have updated the rules and etiquette guide. When you log on, please pay extra attention to the rules this month as things have changed slightly.

We hope to see you there!

When is the event?

  • The event will start Friday, May 21st at 5 pm, and will end on Sunday, May 23rd at 5 pm.

How do I get in? What do I need before I can play?

  • Here is a link to the Discord server: https://discord.gg/3KvGY56
  • You can purchase tickets for this event at www.kanar.club/payment. Tickets for this event are our standard event fee of $20.00
  • There's a few things that you should check off your checklist before you can start playing this weekend:
  • If you have questions about any of these or are unsure if you have an outstanding balance please email the Treasurer at: treasurer@kanar.club
  • Please note that paying before Friday will help speed up the check-in process! If you pay for the event during the event you will be let in as staff becomes available. If you're doing so at 3am, it will take some time for you to gain access to the event since the staff is probably asleep. Please rest assured that we are all working diligently on this, and we will get to you as quickly as we can.
  • Due to COVID-19, we are not taking any cash or check payments at this time.

How do I get XP?

  • Like all of our digital events, we will have ways to earn additional XP available to all players! You can earn XP by doing the following:

    • Find a Statue: Post a picture of you in garb next to or with a statue - 12xp
    • Spring Tea: Post a picture of you in garb drinking your favorite tea - 12xp
    • Rain or Storm Poem: Write a poem in character about rain or storms - 6xp
    • Honey Recipe: Share your favorite recipe that includes honey - 6xp
  • Season Pass Holders will get 30xp
  • There will be a room in the Discord channel for you to post your submissions
    • This XP will cap at 12 extra XP (for a total of 30 XP for the whole event).
  • Since Discord doesn't allow for large files to be posted, you may post large files (like videos) to the Kanar Facebook group.

Can I do modules and combat?

  • Yes to both! GM staff will be on and off all weekend and will be working with those that require modules. Combat rules are posted in Discord.
  • Module Schedule:

    • Friday
      • 8pm - Renovation Never Ends - Builders need help getting an abandoned house ready for a family of refugees; crews keep refusing to go back. (Small/Midsize party, crafting and RP)
      • 10pm - Books! - Book collector needs help organizing (Small/Midsize party, RP)

      • 3pm - Mantle Manages - The Mantle has called together casters of all abilities to help with the Ilveresh problem. (Mass, open to all, magic, combat, and RP)

      • 3pm - Crossroads Bakers May - A simple bakery with simple goods. Honest. (Small/Midsize party, RP and more.)

Can I teach/learn skills?

  • Absolutely! Just make sure that you are role-playing the lessons appropriately. Please note that teaching and learning can only be done in the room designated for skill learning.

Once I'm online, how can I ask staff out of game questions?

  • There is an area on Discord you can post your OOG questions.
  • You can also tag anyone who has the role of GUARD (they are our Admin staff), and they will happily help you, or direct you to the appropriate staff member!

How late can I purchase a ticket to be considered an "attendee" for sign out purposes?

  • You can buy tickets to the event until 4:50 pm on Sunday. So long as you buy a ticket before then and get checked in to the server, you will be considered an attendee and can do a sign-out! I

Because digital events are new and ever-changing, we've put together a short video tour of what Kanar's digital event set up looks like. I would highly recommend you give this a watch especially if it's your first time joining us:

If you have any further questions about the upcoming event you can email any of our staff: www.kanar.club/staff

Thank you all for being a part of this community; please stay safe and healthy!

Live Events?

5.7 - Live Events?

Hello everyone,

I want to take a second and thank everyone who filled out the last covid survey. After monitoring our numbers and discussing with the safety staff it was determined we didn’t quite have enough at the time. Now that the vaccine has been opened to the general population for more then a month, we want to know where our club is at with the vaccinations once again. This survey is anonymous and having the numbers will help the board evaluate the safety of returning to live events. Now that the state of Michigan is starting to change its restrictions I am asking for you all to fill this survey out one more time and I thank you all for your understanding.

Thank you.

4.7 - Live Events?

Hello everyone,

As some of you already know the board is planning on having a meeting at the end of April to evaluate whether we can have live events. We have been monitoring our numbers and discussing the safety of our players. Now that the vaccine has been opened to the general population, we want to know where our club is at with the vaccinations. This survey is anonymous, but having the numbers will help the board evaluate the safety of returning to live events.

Thank you.
