Hello Kanar members!

Our Board of Directors positions of President & Even Year Player Rep have come to the end of their terms and are now up for election. We would like to take a moment to thank them for their dedication in volunteering their time and energy to work with KGE.

The following positions are now open for nominations:

• President

• Even Year General Representative

We will be opening nominations for these positions on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. Please make sure you email the secretary at secretary@kanar.club or the entire BOD at bod@kanar.club if you wish to nominate yourself or another member.

Qualifications for the Director positions are as followed:

• Currently hold Veteran KGE Membership Status and be a KGE member in Good Standing

  • As a reminder, returning Inactive members are Probationary members for 1 year, and not eligible to run for election until they return to Veteran status

• Not have been released from any position with KGE due to disciplinary action in the last five years

• Have a working phone number

• Have a working email address and access to email on a daily basis

• Have a valid mailing address

• Have a valid photo identification card recognized by the US government

Nominations for these positions will be closed on Saturday, June 30th, 2024.

Voting for these positions will be from Monday, July 1st until Tuesday, July 9th at 12:00am.

Election results will be announced on Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, and the new board members will be seated at the next Board of Directors meeting on Sunday, July 14th at 1:00 PM.

Hi all, with how hot the weather has been, BLD is shifting the times for our June 8th work day to 10am - 4pm, to hopefully take advantage of cool morning temps. We'll be focused on splitting wood, lifting the econ shed, and moving railroad ties.

5.20 - A Letter from the Secretary

Hello everyone,
Jerimy Herpel, has informed the Board of Directors of his decision to step down from his position of Game Master 1st. The Board would like to thank him for his time, dedication, and patience with the position. Jerimy has helped the game and community grow in many ways during his time as our Game Master.

I would like to personally thank him for the many wonderful stories he has told and coordinated over the last two years.

Hello everyone!
Just your CBM crew here to let you know that your character sheet updates for the April Live Event have been completed.

As always, if you find something of concern or you did not get an update, please be sure to check the "Staff Comments" tab on your sheet first for possible information. Otherwise, feel free to reach out to us via email and I am sure we can get you take care of.

We would like to apologize for the delay in getting these out to you as I am sure you are all waiting patiently. We had some staff changes and were working around that. We really appreciate your understanding.

We have not completed your most recent RP Only Event updates and will be completing them with the upcoming event update. Feel free to include the RPO Event XP in your totals for this event when you are planning your skills.

Also, CBM is looking for eager members to add to the staff! We are accepting applications to join the team. We will be performing interviews via discord for those that show interest! Please contact us at CBM@kanar.club.

5.15 - Tick Season

Hello Players!

As we head into our May event, please be mindful that this year's tick season is going to be extremely bad!

Check yourself often and wear bug repellant! Ticks remain low to the ground in tall grass / brush, so spraying shoes & pants with DEET can be helpful for keeping them off. Adult ticks are usually pretty easy to spot, but younger ticks are much smaller than might be expected.

An imbedded tick needs to be removed carefully, as to not leave any part of the tick behind. Please ask for assistance if needed.

5.08 - Playmaster and Safety announcement

Dear club membership we are aware that fighting can get intense sometimes. We do have to remind you of several things that are not OK.

You cannot cross check with a spear. This is highly unsafe and not the proper use of this weapon.

You may also not remove a hand from a two handed spear to give yourself more range for a strike. 2 handed weapons require the use of 2 hands at all times.

These unsafe practices cannot be allowed to continue as it puts our membership at risk.

• Not have been released from any position with KGE due to disciplinary action in the last five years.

• Have a working phone number

Nominations for this position will be closed on Friday, October 2nd, 2020.

Please note that in our bylaws, under Article VI (Elections) section 4.3, nominations are typically opened for 1 month unless a different deadline has been set. The Board of Directors has chosen to allow for nominations to be open for a shorter amount of time so that the newly elected Board Member can be sworn in at the October Board of Directors meeting on October 11th, 2020.

Open Building and Land Department Head Position

Hello!

Our former Building and Land Director Head, Rob Hubbard, has joined our Board of Directors and as such has stepped down from his position on BLD.

KGE is now accepting applications for the position of Building and Land Director Head; these applications are open now until August 12th, 2020.

If you wish to apply for this position, here is a list of requirements:

• Currently hold Veteran Membership with KGE and be in Good Standing (two years membership and no outstanding disciplinary actions or debts)

• Have a working telephone number.

• Have a working email address with daily access

• Have a valid mailing address.

Responsibilities of the BLD Head include, but are not limited to:

• Allocating areas for use on KGE Inc. property

• Perform a land walkthrough after every scheduled event to assess the condition of the field

• Submit quarterly reports to the BoD as to the progress of projects under BLD purview

Open Safety Staff Position

The Safety Staff is looking for volunteers!

As Kanar’s Safety team, we’re here to make sure players stay safe and healthy. Our primary job is responding to medical issues that arise on the field of play; this includes things like checking cuts and sprains, treatment for dehydration, and getting more seriously injured players proper medical attention. As this is a job done during events, we ask that volunteers make sure they can attend events regularly.

If you have medical experience (especially first responder training) and are interested in joining the Safety team, please email safety@kanar.club or find Kiri (Margaret) at an event.

Open Treasurer Position

Hello everyone,

It is with a heavy and weary heart that I must announce the opening of the Treasurer position on the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Kanar Gaming Enterprises thanks Matt Ash for his services and contributions as Treasurer, and wishes him well on his future endeavors within and without the scope of the game and club.

Nominations for Treasurer open immediately and will be open for one month's time, until March 28th, 2020. At that time, polls will open and veteran members will be sent an electronic ballot via the email address sent with their most recent Annual Registration Form.

As an important note - the 2020 season for Kanar has begun and a 2020 Annual Registration Form will be needed to be considered in "Good Standing" for the purposes of voting. If you or those you know wish to be considered for this position or vote in the special election, please be sure to have filled out your Annual Registration Form and paid your yearly membership dues. Safety 1st Position Open

Hello everyone and happy Monday,

Your KGE Corporate Secretary is here with a couple post-meeting announcements. Firstly, congradulations to our newly seated Directors Matt Ash and Christana Ringbloom. Kanar Gaming Enterprises would also like to thank Dave Milka and David Angell for their time served on the Board of Directors.

Secondly, Eric Forge has stepped down as the Department Head of Safety for KGE. As such, we will be opening the position to applicants effective immediately. Applications will be accepted for the next 30 days, until Wednesday, August 7th, 2019. Aspiring applicants need to meet the following general qualifications:

• Currently hold Veteran Membership with KGE and be in Good Standing (two years membership and no outstanding disciplinary actions or debts)

• Have a working telephone number.

• Have a working email address with daily access

• Have a valid mailing address.

Responsibilities of the Safety Department Head include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and enforcing the non-combatant sash policy.

• Being the absolute authority on the field of play in matters of safety.

• Responding in a quick and helpful manner to injuries

Media 1st Position Opening

Good afternoon everyone,

At the January Board of Directors meeting, it was decided to open the position of Media 1st to applicants. Members wishing to apply for this position should send a resume and cover letter to the Board at bod@kanar.club before the next meeting, held on Sunday, April 28th, 2019.

In order to apply for this position, applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Be a Veteran Member and currently in Good Standing.

• Have a working phone number

• Have a working email address that is checked on a regular basis

• Have a valid mailing address

The responsibilites of the Media 1st position involve management of the website, moderation of KGE and Kanar's social media pages and groups, and administration of KGE's digital assets. Experience with IT work is highly recommended.

Your Corporate Secretary is here to announce the availability of a K1 Game Staff position that has been opened. The following position will be opened for application and appointment, effective immediately, and will close January 12th, 2019 to be discussed and voted upon at the Board of Directors meeting the following day:

Applications will then be reviewed and the President will schedule interviews with the applicants. Approved applicants will then be motioned for discussion and approval at the Board of Directors meeting. Members desiring to apply for this position must meet the following general requirements:

• Currently hold Veteran KGE Membership Status and be a KGE member in Good Standing.

• Not have been released from any other KGE position due to disciplinary action in the last five years.

• Have a current and working telephone number.

• Have a working e-mail address with access on a daily basis.

• Have a current and valid mailing address.
